2005 The Hogue Cellars Wahluke Slope Reserve Merlot
Winemaker Notes

Wahluke Slope, at 1200-ft elevation, overlooks the Columbia River in Eastern Washington.  Pristine water from Cascade Mountain snow-fields and sandy loam soils combine with long warm days and cool evenings to produce fruit featuring dense currant and black cherry flavors with concentrated color and tannin.  Aged 25 months in French oak, this wine will continue to develop another 6-10 years.
