2003, Rex Hill Vineyard, Oregon Chehalem Mountains Cuvee Pinot Noir

The Chehalem Mountains Cuvee comprises Pinot Noir from three premium vineyard sources: Carabella, Jacob - Hart and Hawks view.  Vineyard acreages id divided between hillside sites with clay - loam soils of volcanic origin, and lower-elevation sites of ancient marine sedimentary soils.  The result is a delicious Pinot Noir with intense fruit character and great structure, tasting of bright red fruits, anise and spice.  Try pairing this cuvee with grilled quail in a ginger - port marinade.
