The diverse soils, terrain, and microclimates of California create ideal conditions for the growing of grapes for our BLACK MOUNTAIN Laurelwood Merlot. The fruit was picked at the point of perfection; just ripe enough to ensure a precise sugar-acid balance. The wine was then aged until it reached its optimum bouquet and complexity. You will find this wine to be a rich, mellow merlot with a distinctive "cherry-chocolate" character. Our Black Mountain Laurelwood Merlot is quite drinkable now, but it will benefit from cellaring for two to three years.
