2003, Herzog Wine Cellars, Alexander Valley The M Series Special Reserve Merlot

Our Herzog Special Reserve Merlot was crafted from carefully selected Merlot grapes grown in the Alexander Valley.  As the wine aged in French and American oak barrels for twelve months, it evolved very gracefully, presenting wonderful jam/berry notes that were further enhanced by the character of the oak barrels.  The wine is very approachable, as it exhibits soft tannin and full body.  As this wine was bottled with only light filtration, it may produce natural sediment as it ages.
