A mysterious as the blending of Viognier, a white grape, with Shiraz, the doyen of Australia red wine grapes, may sound, the resultant amalgamation of Mclaren Vale Shiraz and Langhorne Creek Viognier has delivered a wine of predominantly aromatic character.
A full bodied, rich and powerful offering, this wine is made complex by the femininity of its perfumed nose, concentrated deep purple ruby color, fine grained, balanced tannins and a sweet and juicy palate.  Aged 12 months with French oak, The Black Chook is a mystery you’ll find as intriguing to unravel as I found it was to ravel.
Drink when feasting, using a dictionary, or telling chook stories.  And, it not tantalised, cellar 2 – 3 years.
