Due to reduced lees stirring in this vintage, the 2005 Estate Chardonnay is a bit more fruit focused and elegant than recent vintages. The wine starts with a pronounced nose of vanilla, light pear and green apple with a touch of macadamia nut. Initially shy in the mouth, the wine displays a well delineated, Chablis-like style. It finishes with zesty refreshing acidity and a distinct mineral note. This elegant chardonnay makes an excellent match with subtle seafood, like shellfish or sole, as well as chicken.
