"The deep ruby/purple-colored 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Stuhlmuller Vineyard offers terrific fruit on the attack, followed by notes of menthol, black currants, cranberries, and sweet cherries. A pleasant loamy soil-like character gives it a distinctive terroir note. The finish is spicy and heady. The Stuhlmuller Vineyard, from which this wine takes its name, is located in the southern reaches of the Alexander Valley and consistently yields classic Cabernet Sauvignon. From first glance, its black-purple color captivates and draws you toward the incredible aromas of boysenberry fruit, wild blackberry and cassis. Notes of plum soon emerge with a dance of chocolate ganache, toast and vanilla. On the palate, the texture is chewy and concentrated with all the classic elements we have come to know and love in a great Cabernet Sauvignon, especially from the Stuhlmuller Vineyard: sumptuously soft tannins and a finish that lingers on and on.
